The Ambassador System of DOSZ (the Association of Hungarian PhD and DLA Candidates) was established in 2021 with 16 ambassadors from different countries all over the world. For the academic year 2022/2024 the number of the DOSZ Ambassadors increased to 39 – in this way 39 countries are represented in our system.
The aim of the Ambassador System is to set up an international environment for young scientists in Hungary, and to internationalise PhD education within the country by crossing boundaries, we would like to facilitate international scientific connections, involving foreign PhD candidates currently doing their researches in one of the Hungarian Higher Education Institutions. We believe that only an internationally active PhD community can be competitive and sustainable.
We would like to support the international PhD candidates in Hungary, to build their own communities, receive useful information in connection with their doctoral studies and their residence in Hungary.

Ammar Allem, PhD candidate at MATE, Doctoral School of Biological Sciences. He completed his MSc at Debrecen University, and currently he is a researcher also at Eszterházy Károly Catholic University. His PhD research topic is about "The effect of the abiotic stress on Algerian and Hungarian wheat varieties in connection with the disadvantageous effects of global climate change". Ammar emphasizes the importance of networking in research and development, particularly in building a community with a global audience. His goals are to represent his home country and assist current and prospective PhD students and researchers from his country, as well as international students. In addition, shares his knowledge and experience to others and motivate them to contribute in the improvement of the community.

He received his bachelor's and master's degrees majoring in sociology at Khulna University, Bangladesh. Regarding his diplomatic background, he served as an ambassador for socialprotection.org as a United Nations Volunteer (UNV) and the DOSZ Ambassador of Bangladesh for the fiscal years 2022–2023. He believes the only way to deal with future challenges is through sharing and exchanging knowledge among nations. He is driven by a desire to uphold the Universal Brotherhood through scientific diplomacy.

Mohamed Hamdy is a PhD student in Miskolc University, his field of study is Hydrogeology. His PhD thesis is concentrated in very effective topics including Isotope geochemistry, geochemical modelling, groundwater modelling, climate change, environmental risk assessment, machine learning and artifical intillegence. He could publish 11 articles in highly impacted international Journals in the first two years. He was selected from the top 30 students in Europe to present his last research paper in Canada. He could make collaboration with different universities in Hungary, Algeria, Egypt, Yemen, USA, and Emirates. His goal is to build strong research team in his field from different countries to share the experience, facilities and support all the international PhD students.

Thandeka Sibiya is a final year PhD Candidate. Her research seeks to investigate the how the phenomena of immigration and education shape teacher identity South Africa. This study is relevant for other countries as well, considering that the world is becoming flater and flater, aided by technology in the process. She is a member of the Magic of English Language Teaching, a Hungarian NPO, that has partnered with Finmita, a Finnish organisation, helping teachers teach meaningfully. She is planning on forging a long lasting relationship between Hungarian and South African students, through partnerships, for example with Tempus Foundation, particularly in the area of teacher education, and academia.
